Virtual software platform connects international audiences in Berlin and Las Vegas

Conshohocken, PA – (November 5, 2010) – vcopious, a leading virtual environment software platform, has successfully powered a virtual environment for the SAP TechEd 2010 conference held in Berlin on October 12-14 and Las Vegas on October 18-22. SAP TechEd 2010, the must-attend event for technical and business process professionals, connected more than 13,000 virtual attendees from both events via live streaming video, social networking tools and interactive event updates using the vcopious platform.

“The vcopious platform performed perfectly and allowed us to provide an amazing virtual experience to thousands of participants beyond the walls of this year’s SAP TechEd conferences in Berlin and Las Vegas,” said Chip Rodgers, vice president and chief operating officer, SAP Community Network at SAP. “The flexible vcopious platform in use at SAP TechEd Berlin and Las Vegas supported SAP’s mission to continue to invest in promising innovations that connect our global audiences.”

SAP TechEd was attended by more than 4,000 individuals in Berlin and over 5,500 in Las Vegas, where participants learned the latest technology news from SAP. Virtual attendees were able to experience a selection of live and on-demand presentations via SAP TechEd Live, a site featuring highlights from the show floors. These highlights included the keynote from Dr. Vishal Sikka, member of the SAP Executive Board; expert interviews of SAP executives, partners and customers broadcast at the top of each hour; coverage of Demo Jam, lectures and educational sessions. In addition, virtual participants were able to schedule sessions for viewing presentations and share video content directly from the virtual platform via email and social media platforms such as twitter.

“The vcopious platform offers companies an experience that is 100 percent customizable and housed behind their firewall,” said Ken Hayward, CEO of vcopious. “Creating virtual experiences for events like SAP TechEd is just one of the myriad ways companies are using our flexible platform, which integrates with a company’s IT infrastructure.”

SAP TechEd 2010 is the latest example of how SAP is using the vcopious platform for multiple business uses to enhance interaction with partners, customers and employees. SAP recently utilized the platform to deliver an enhanced, interactive experience to more than 30,000 virtual and live attendees at SAPPHIRE® NOW, an international conference held simultaneously in Frankfurt, Germany, and Orlando, Fla., May 17-19, 2010.
